What got you into politics?
My perception is that I am getting back into Education and not too worried about the politics. I retired two years ago and my interest and desire to be involved in public education again was the motivation behind running for trustee.
What experience will you bring to compliment your role as (Mayor / Councillor / School Trustee)?
I was a teacher, vice principal, principal and Assistant Superintendent totalling 43 years of experience. I developed a reputation for creative problem solving, honest straight forward communication, and desire to see the best opportunities possible for students.
What are some issues that you would like to stand for in your role as (Mayor / Councillor / School Trustee), and why are these issues important to you?
Equity for students in policy and action
Value and Respect for the Work of all Divisional Staff
Supporting the Multi-Year Strategic Plan
Support Programming Providing Rich and Varied Experiences for Students
Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?
I look forward to working with the other trustees as we all have the best interest of staff and students at the forefront of our platforms. It is important that we realize that as a group we can represent the Louis Riel School Division community and create a positive environment for work and learning!
