Questionnaire Response

Omar Kinnarath - Daniel McIntyre

What got you into politics?

I have always been interested in politics but I never felt the need to get involved in running until recently. I live in a community and city in crisis and over the last 3 years I have done my part with the little resources I have to make this community better. Its time for a lot of reimaging and re thinking and I feel with my lived experience I can help solve 21st century problems with 21st century solutions.

What experience will you bring to compliment your role as (Mayor / Councillor / School Trustee)?

I feel I’m the candidate most prepared for the job of councillor in my ward. I have years experience in community organizing and I currently organize Mutual Aid Society Winnipeg which has over 14000 members. I will bring the energy, passion and willingness to fight to city council.

What are some issues that you would like to stand for in your role as (Mayor / Councillor / School Trustee), and why are these issues important to you?

If you are to be the city councillor of Daniel McIntyre you need to be the voice and champion of all poor and working class people in the city. I will put people before profit and community before corporations and I will have the courage to tell Developers, Landlords and those who wish to exploit this community. NO.

Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

Winnipeg is in Crisis. We need to start electing crisis managers instead of politicians. We need to elect people with a demonstrable ability to get things done and have the passion, fire and courage to stand up to those who wish to take from us. In Daniel McIntyre there is only one candidate that has proven this, and excelled at this and that candidate is Me. On October 26th let’s Change Everything. Vote for Omar Kinnarath to be your city councillor in the Daniel McIntyre Ward.
